Robert Murphy

Bob Murphy is the President – Technology Solutions Sector for BAE SYSTEMS. In this capacity, he is based at the sector’s headquarters in Rockville, Md. The Technology Solutions Sector provides a full-spectrum of systems engineering, technical services, and ordnance systems to its customers in disciplines essential for successful systems development, operating, and maintenance. Its full life-cycle systems capabilities include system design, integration and test; software development, engineering, and maintenance; and integrated logistics support.

Mr. Murphy joined BAE SYSTEMS in 1999 as senior vice president – finance and CFO, and was named to his current position in 2003. He joined the company following 18 years at General Electric, where he held numerous financial positions of ever increasing responsibility, culminating in the role of manager finance – military engines operations for GE Aircraft Engines. Bob was also previously employed by Martin Marietta.

Mr. Murphy graduated in 1981 from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing. During his career, he has completed numerous advanced financial management and senior leadership programs. He currently resides in Maryland with his wife and two children.
