NIck Orlando, Student Ambassador |
|
Year: Junior
When I first arrived at Maryland I had no idea which academic field I wanted to pursue. I finally decided on a major in Civil Engineer as a result of my love of problem solving. As a transfer into the Civil Engineering program in the Clark School, I could not have been happier. I have become very involved in the Clark School as a member of ASCE and the Ambassadors program. Additionally, I am a Teaching Fellow for a first year course, Introduction to Engineering Design, which is part of the Keystone Program. In this course, students embark on a semester long project to design and build a functional hovercraft. Outside of engineering, I work for University of Maryland Athletics in the Operations and Facilities Department. I also play as many intramural sports as I can. I'm a big time Philadelphia and Terps sports fan and try to go to all of the games. In my free time I love to snowboarding, listen to music, and play sports.
