Year: Junior
My interest in civil engineering started after attending several Women in Engineering summer camps at the University of Maryland. I met many interesting people and attended interesting seminars, and decided that engineering was the career for me. My experience at UMD has been great! I am involved as a secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineers and am in the Quality Enhancement Systems and Teams program. I am also a member of the engineering sorority Alpha Omega Epsilon. This past summer, I interned at Bovis Lend Lease working at the Ritz-Carlton Residences project on the Inner Harbor, in Baltimore, MD. It was a valuable experience and I learned a great deal about the world of construction. In addition to my engineering major, I have chosen to minor in Art History to pursue my personal interest. I hope to travel abroad to Italy and Spain to further enhance this interest.
