Year: Junior
As long as I can remember, I have always had an interest in math, science, and space exploration. When it came time to start preparing for college, aerospace engineering seemed like the logical choice for my major. I cannot express how pleasantly surprised I was to find such an extraordinary engineering program at the University of Maryland. In order to broaden my horizons, I also accepted an invitation to join Gemstone, a four-year program that consists of a multidisciplinary research project. My team is investigating unique ways to harvest wasted energy and convert it into electrical energy. Beyond my interesting and enjoyable classes, I have also taken advantage of other activities available from the university, such as intramural sports. One of the best features of the University of Maryland is its proximity to the nation's capital. On weekends I enjoy taking the metrorail downtown and visiting the Smithsonian (especially the Air and Space Museum). It's great to be a Terp!
