Year: Junior
Deciding to study engineering at the Clark School at University of Maryland has been one of the best decisions I ever made. Maryland offers excellent academics combined with a beautiful campus, great school spirit, and tons of extra-curricular activities to get involved in. I am getting a great education and having lots of fun which was exactly what I was looking for in my college experience. I am a junior Civil and Environmental Engineering major in the Environmental and Water Resources track and working towards a minor in Project Management. I am a mentor in the Women in Engineering program and participate in Engineers Without Borders, IV Christian Fellowship, and lots of intramural sports. I am a huge Terps fan and go to as many games as possible. I also love to travel and hope to study abroad this spring or winter term. This summer I interned for Bechtel Corporation in Frederick, Maryland. I worked with a team of engineers on a licensing project for a new Nuclear Power reactor. I also got to travel with several women in the company to the National Women in Nuclear Conference held in Charlotte, North Carolina this past July. My internship deepened my interest in studying alternative fuel and clean energy.
