Awards

Pi Tau Sigma takes pride in acknowledging the excellence of faculty, staff, and mechanical engineering students. One way we do this is by presenting awards for outstanding service and dedication in the world of academia. Some of these awards are given annually and other awards are given each semester. Below is a list of people who have received awards recently, and below that is a description of each award that Pi Tau Sigma gives out. Congratulations to these distinguished people!

The Purple Camshaft Award

The Purple Cam Shaft is a Pi Tau Sigma award granted to a professor who offers a challenging course from which the students can benefit. This award is bestowed annually to the most qualified candidate.



Pi Tau Sigma Faculty/Staff Appreciation Award

The Pi Tau Sigma Faculty/Staff Appreciation Award is presented to a faculty or staff member for their excellent dedication and contributions to teaching undergraduate students. This award is bestowed each semester to the most qualified candidate.



Pi Tau Sigma Teaching Assistant Appreciation Award

The Pi Tau Sigma Teaching Assistant Appreciation Award is presented to a teaching assistant for their excellent dedication and contributions to teaching undergraduate students. This award is bestowed each semester to the most qualified candidate.



Pi Tau Sigma Outstanding Service Award

The Pi Tau Sigma Outstanding Service Award is presented to a student for outstanding service and contributions to the chapter. This award is bestowed annually to the most qualified candidate.



Pi Tau Sigma Memorial Award

The Pi Tau Sigma Memorial Award is presented to the senior of Mechanical Engineering who has made the most outstanding contributions to the university. This award is bestowed annually to the most qualified candidate.
