The Maryland chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers serves professionals in the civil engineering field in the Maryland area. Meetings, events, and resources are provided to members. At meetings, guest speakers often share their experiences and contributions to the civil engineering profession.

The Maryland chapter also provides resources to students and those whose aspirations lie in the civil engineering realm.

At the Clark School of Engineering we bring together forward-looking people dedicated to creating progress, to making the world a better place. The A. James Clark School of Engineering consists of some 4500 students, 200 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and facilities in more than 14 buildings on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland.

Over the past ten years, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has grown dramatically; attracted outstanding faculty, research staff, and students; and radically expanded its programs and sponsored research support.
