WHAT: Sustainability does not happen by chance. It must be engineered.

Our goals: to present and propose ways to maximize technology's positive impact on the long-term availability of natural resources, and to minimize its negative impact. This year, with the co-sponsorship of the University of Maryland Energy Research Center and Office of Sustainability, we will focus on energy resources.

Events include:
• Guest speakers from Constellation Energy, the Maryland Energy Administration, Zymetis, and the University of Maryland School of Public Policy

• Dawn Rittenhouse of DuPont will deliver the keynote address.

• Attendees will be able to tour a poster session, featuring faculty and student work

• The afternoon will feature brief overviews of the work of faculty members from the Clark School, plus a pictorial tour of the university's LEAFHouse Solar Decathlon project, a biodiesel piston engine demonstration and a presentation by Engineers Without Borders

WHO: Clark School faculty members and students, and interested faculty members and students from other University of Maryland schools, along with guest speakers and attendees from government and industry.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 22, 2009—Earth Day
9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
