Clark School of Engineering Commencement 2002 speaker Dr. Malcom R. O'Neill, vice president and chief technical officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC), provides insight to graduates in his address titled, "Battling the Gray Side of 'The Force'".

Dr. Malcolm R. O'Neill is Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC). He has oversight responsibility for research, engineering, program management and integrated mission analysis functions throughout the corporation.

During his military career O'Neill held numerous prominent positions

including: Director, Ballistic Missile Defense Organization; Deputy Director, Strategic Defense Initiative Organization; and Deputy for Program Assessment and International Cooperation Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Research, Development and Acquisition).

A native of Chicago, Illinois, O'Neill graduated from De Paul University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and received both a Master of Arts and Doctorate in Physics from Rice University.
