Clark School alumnus and Board of Visitors member Pedro E. Wasmer, '62 civil engineering, and his wife Ann are sponsoring "Jestudo," one of 50 larger-than-life "Fear the Turtle" Testudo sculptures that will grace the campus later this year as part of the university’s 150th anniversary celebration.

The Wasmers selected the "Jestudo" design from many options presented to them.

"I chose one that represents a Testudo attired in a very 'Maryland' fashion because, since I am not at the school with great frequency, it appealed to my sense of nostalgia for my Alma Mater," Wasmer said. "I decided to sponsor a Testudo because I thought the concept was a fun way of raising money."

Each of the sculptures is sponsored by a donation of at least $4,000. There are 8 statues still awaiting sponsorships.
