Donation Names Kim Building Lecture Hall
Stanley Zupnik (BS ’59, civil engineering), founder of Majestic Builders of Chevy Chase, recently made a $500,000 pledge to the Clark School Dean’s Fund. In recognition of this generous gift, the Clark School will name the large lecture hall in the Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building Stanley Zupnik Hall.
Hovercraft Invade the Kim Building
Team Keystone Flight clocked the fastest time, while Walter Johnson High School won for best craftsmanship, at this semester's ENES100 Hovercraft Competition.
Sandborn Named Interim Director of Mtech
Professor and Associate Chair of Mechanical Engineering Peter Sandborn has been named interim director of the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech). Sandborn will replace Professor David Barbe, who is retiring from the university at the end of the year.

Steven Acenbrak (M.S. '88, civil engineering) was recently designated a Public Works Leadership Fellow by the American Public Works Association. He is the director of transportation for the city of Roswell, Ga.
Ming-Teh Hsu (Ph.D. '74, nuclear engineering) received a Special Contribution Award from the president of Tsing-Hua University for his assistance with a fundraising campaign there.
Michael J. Scott (B.S. '03, mechanical engineering) is director of STEM initiatives at St. Paul's School in Baltimore.
