Maryland Day: Explore Our World, April 28
Join us on April 28th, rain or shine, for Maryland Day-a fun-filled day of hands-on activities, demonstrations and, of course, lots of food! This year's event will have an international flair, with special features including a global village with performances and food demonstrations.

This year's NanoDay is centered around partnerships. On May 11, the Maryland NanoCenter will showcase the many new capabilities and facilities the NanoCenter has to offer potential partners in research and development. Wanted: Golfers for the 4th Annual Engineering Alumni & Faculty Golf Tournament
The Engineering Alumni Chapter is seeking sponsors for the 4th Annual Engineering Alumni Chapter Golf Tournament on May 17. Support the efforts of the Engineering Alumni Chapter and enjoy a morning of golf. Event includes a picnic, prizes and a silent auction to support the scholarship fund. Battle of the Beltways: Baseball Game at Camden Yards, June 14
Bring your family and enjoy an evening of baseball as the Baltimore Orioles take on the Washington Nationals. Join other Clark School of Engineering alumni, faculty, staff and their families for a pre-game picnic and game. Cost is $33 per person. Volunteer Opportunities for Engineering Alumni
The Engineering Alumni Chapter Board of Directors is seeking alumni who are interested in helping the Clark School continue to excel. There are volunteer positions available in the Student Outreach Committee, Alumni Outreach Committee and the Communication and Fundraising Committee. Akhlesh Kaushiva (B.S. '72, electrical engineering) has joined Avineon, Inc., as vice president of the company's Commercial IT Services division. Avineon is a provider of IT, geospatial, engineering and program management services.
Chris A. Mack (M.S. '89, electrical engineering) has accepted a role as advisory scientist at Invarium, Inc., a provider of advanced patterning synthesis solutions.
Antonio Oliva (B.S. '89, aerospace engineering) writes that he has been working for the U.S. manned space program for 17 years, including supporting the first eight flights to assemble the International Space Station, and has begun work on the Constellation Program.
