    Standard Handbook for Civil Engineers, Merritt, McGraw Hill Has the most wideranging and practical information of any handbook for the general practitioner.

    Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures, Portland Cement Association You will be designing your own mixes. A good guide for doing so.
    Structural Engineering Handbook, Gaylord and Gaylord, McGraw Hill A good compliment to MERRITT for someone involved with more complicated structural work.
    Micro-Hydro Design Manual, Adma Harvey, Intermediate Technology Publications The best single manual on micro-hydro that I've found.
    Micro-Hydropower Sourcebook, Allen Inversin, NRECA General coverage of the topic
    Simple Methods for the Treatment of Drinking Water, Gate -GTZ
    Hand-Built Earthen Micro-dams, Mennonite Central Committee Step by step guide used for small earthern dam construction on a village level.
    The Construction of Masonry Wells, Johann Zimmermann, Mennonite Central Committee Wide diameter, hand dug wells cased with curved concrete block.
