J.M. Patterson building renovation for the Department of Fire Protection Engineering

We are thankful to the generous donors who have supported this project. The spaces they are supporting are shown in the following table.

Sponsor Space Pledge
Code Consultants, Inc. (CCI) Classroom $100,000
East Coast Fire Protection Lab Facility #1 $25,000
EBL Engineers Lab Facility #2 $25,000
BFPE International Lab Facility #3 $25,000
Koffel Associates Fire Standards Lab $50,000
RJA Group Fire Laboratory $100,000
Schirmer Engineering Corporation Conference Room $100,000
Hughes Associates Suppression Lab $100,000
Underwriters Laboratories Fire Modeling Lab $50,000

The Dean of the A. James Clark School of Engineering has also pledged additional support in the amount of $170,000 for the renovation project. This support was motivated in part by the in-kind contribution of the fire alarm system in the new Kim Building by Edwards Systems Technologies (now GE-Security). GE-Security is also donating fire alarm equipment for the J.M. Patterson renovation, while Marioff is donating a water mist system for the new office area.

In addition to these one-time pledges, we also want to acknowledge the annual support being provided by the founding members of the Fire Center. These founding members currently include:

  • Combustion Science and Engineering
  • Gypsum Association
  • Hughes Associates
  • National Fire Protection Association
  • RJA Group
  • Schirmer Engineering Corporation

In recognition of this vital support for our students, an area in the remodeled facilities will be named for the Fire Center and the names of current founding members will be listed. Companies interested in supporting students through the Fire Center should contact Radka Nebesky or Fred Mowrer for more information.
