Change of Major Workshops

Dates:

September 11th @ 10:00am
There is a limit of 25 students per workshop.

All admitted students must attend a Major Change Workshop in order to have their major officially changed to an Engineering major.

You can sign up for the Major Change Workshop by bringing the letter you received from Undergraduate Admissions to 1124 Glenn L. Martin Hall or by forwarding the letter to engrhelp@umd.edu. Include your full name, UID, intended major, phone number, and the requested date and time of the Major Change Workshop you would like to attend.

Change of Major Workshops

If you are a current UM student seeking admission in the A. James Clark School of Engineering and have questions please see the Limited Enrollment Program (LEP) advisor/coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The admissions office is located in the Ground Floor of the Mitchell Bldg.

In order to change your major into engineering you must submit an application to the LEP coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where it will undergo a one time review of the admission criteria.  Applications can be picked up at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or complete this online application ENGR LEP Application for MD students. Return the completed application to the Office of Admissions' LEP Coordinator, located in the Ground Floor of the Mitchell Bldg. The application is due by  the 5th business day of the month as follows:

  • Spring semester admission: January
  • Summer semester admission: June
  • Fall semester admission: August

Once you have submitted your application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions a decision will be sent to your e-mail account instructing you of your next step.
