Advising

Following these guidelines is imperative to ensure all graduation paperwork will be completed and all degree requirements will be satisfied. Ultimately, the responsibility of satisfying all degree requirements lies with the student.

Two semesters BEFORE you plan to graduate (90 or more credits)

You MUST review your Degree Navigator unofficial audit.  Please print the audit and bring any questions to your Departmental Advisor during your Pre-Registration Meeting. General questions about CORE courses or the applicability of those courses should be directed to Undergraduate Advising and Academic Support. *If any substitutions have been made to your degree program, please make sure that your advisor has denoted those on your Degree Navigator unofficial audit online.

NOTE: Ultimately, you are responsible for satisfying your degree requirements.  If the audit is inaccurate, please send a detailed message including your name, UID, course, semester, and an explanation of the inaccuracy to engr_dn@umd.edu.

The semester in which you plan to graduate

  • Submit a Graduation Worksheet (pdf) (for the current semester)
  • Resolve all NG or I grades with the professor or the department
  • If completing a Minor, Double Major, Double Degree consult your advisor for that specific program regarding program requirements for graduation
  • Complete a Senior Survey online senior survey and attach the receipt
  • Apply online to graduate on TESTUDO no later than the LAST DAY of schedule adjustment (10 days after classes start) of the semester in which they plan to graduate. Take all completed graduation forms to the Undergraduate Advising & Academic Support Office 1124 Glenn L. Martin Hall

NOTE: Applying for your diploma does not mean that you have completed your Graduation Worksheet nor does participation in the graduation ceremony automatically guarantee graduation from the university. All requirements must be fulfilled before graduation is finally certified on the transcript.

If you do not pass one or more course(s) in your final semester, you must complete the above process again for the next semester.
