All undergraduate students in Engineering will have a mandatory advising
block placed on their registration every fall and spring. This is done
to ensure that engineering students are making satisfactory progress towards
their degree.
First, are you in a declared major? If so, then contact the department's
main faculty advisor for advising. If you are undecided, see an advisor
from the Undergraduate Advising and Academic Support office, 1124 GLMH.
If you are on academic probation due to poor
academic performance and have a block a student must visit
her/his departmental advisor to discuss courses for the
upcoming semester and then visit the Undergraduate Advising
and Academic Support office, 1124 GLMH to make sure that all necessary
stamps are given.
Students in their freshman year, specifically undecided students, may come
in to meet with an advisor in the Undergraduate Advising and Academic
Support office however, students are encouraged to meet with their departmental
advisor as soon as they have declared their major. Transfer students
should be seeking the expertise from their department.
