Admissions Application for The A. James Clark School of Engineering

This application is to be used only by students currently enrolled at UMCP seeking admission to the A. James Clark School of Engineering. Please contact the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with questions regarding the application or the requirements for admission.

For first time admission to the University and/or Engineering, please use the University freshman or transfer application at www.uga.umd.edu.

Applications are due by 5pm on the 5th business day of January or June for the subsequent semester.

June Applicants only: All gateway courses must be completed during the first six week summer session, if not completed prior.

IMPORTANT: YOU ONLY HAVE ONE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY TO ENGINEERING AS A CURRENT MARYLAND STUDENT. Do not apply until you have completed all gateways courses and earned the GPA required for admission to Engineering. All of your academic records (AP scores and previous transcripts) must be applied to your student record by the deadline. A final decision will be made based upon the records available at the time of your application. All college level course work will be considered in the admissions decision.

NOTE: A student’s cumulative GPA will be manually calculated by combining grades and quality points earned in all college level courses (both UMCP and transfer).
