Expertise in project management is one of the most important capabilities any engineer—and in fact any professional—can offer an employer. The Clark School’s highly regarded Project Management program, under the direction of John Cable, will offer two new options for project management education beginning in January 2006. Through the Clark School’s Office of Advanced Engineering Education, the program will offer an Online Master of Engineering in Project Management for engineers only; and a Professional Development Program in Project Management for all professionals. Registration is now under way.
The Center for Nanomedicine and Cellular Delivery has been formed through a collaboration among faculty from the Clark School and the College of Chemical and Life Sciences (in College Park) and the Schools of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Medicine and the Greenebaum Cancer Center at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The center will improve health by enhancing the efficacy and safety of new and existing therapeutic and diagnostic agents through the discovery and application of innovative nanosystems and devices. Of the 20 faculty members affiliated with the center, five are from Bioengineering: Professors Philip DeShong, Sheryl Erhman, Hamid Ghandehari, Peter Kofinas and Srinivasa Raghavan.
The MTECH Venture Forum is a new and dynamic program for technically-oriented graduate students and faculty to explore commercializing emerging technologies and starting their own ventures. The program facilitates new venture formation through workshops, interactive presentations, access to MTECH resources and networking events.
Through the University System of Maryland’s Interactive Video Network, the Clark School will provide Professional Master of Engineering and Graduate Certificate in Engineering programs to the system’s Hagerstown, Md. campus beginning in January.
