Elections!

Welcome to the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at the University of Maryland, College Park!

Dear SWE Members,

Lately I have received many questions about how to become a member of SWE.  First, if you receive emails from SWE then you are considered a local member of our College Park chapter.  This means that you are on our listserv and are welcome to attend any of our meetings (of course, all of our meetings are open to everyone- not just to people on the listserv!). If you do not currently receive emails about upcoming events and would like to, please email Christina Hitz at (chitz@umd.edu)!

We highly encourage all of our local members to also become national members.  National members enjoy the benefits of being able to attend SWE Conferences, opportunities to receive scholarships, and access to our awesome lounge!  All of our elected officers are required to be national members.

To become a national member, all you need to do is fill out a membership application and pay $20 per fiscal school year. Applications can be found in the lounge and online at the national web page: Application- click here!.

Please drop off your application in the lounge with a check made out to "Society of Women Engineers" or you may give cash to any SWE officer.  If you would like access to our lounge, please email
Christina (chitz@umd.edu) with your name, UID, and SWE Membership Number.

If you have any other questions, just send me an email!

Christina Hitz

Membership Coordinator
