ICF's San Francisco office includes 30 staff working collaboratively with a wide range of passions, experience, and project focus.     What you will do: You will help to manage and implement broad-based energy efficiency implementation projects, including the San Francisco Energy Watch program, a program that provides incentives for energy efficiency retrofits in small commercial and multifamily buildings in the City of San Francisco. Your opportunities will include overall program management, direct interface with the client, creative outreach to educate and engage the local community in energy efficiency, coordination of planning and operational program responsibilities, and management of staff and subcontractors. This position is an opportunity to work on the front lines of energy efficiency and make a tangible impact on climate change. On a daily basis you will perform any or all of the following: speak directly with clients to determine the future direction of energy efficiency programs, oversee energy efficiency installations, work with ICF staff and subcontractors to determine appropriate program roles and responsibilities, supervise customer relations management, manage program accounting, evaluation, and reporting requirements, work directly with contractors to evolve their program participation, conduct telephone surveys to gather detailed information, attend brainstorming meetings and assist with or lead proposals. We are seeking a consultant to join our Technology Strategy and Management consulting group within the Energy practice. As members of our team, consultants work with clients involved in a wide range of energy-related activities, particularly in the field of energy efficiency. The consultant will perform a wide range of activities as part of the development of energy efficiency standards for residential and commercial equipment. Other project work may include market and technology assessments, technology transfer, and research and development planning. This includes involvement and interaction with government agencies, industry representatives, equipment manufacturers, trade organizations, and efficiency advocates.

Specific activities may include:

- Modeling the performance of advanced technologies

- Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activities

- Performing statistical and economic analyses; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management

- Assessing technologies and analyzing technology trends

- Assessing U.S. and international market opportunities

- Developing technology strategies for utilities, government agencies, energy companies, and equipment suppliers

- Preparing reports, presentations and other documents for clients

- Preparing and making presentations to clients and internal stakeholders

 

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes:

- Strong interest in energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed generation, and advanced technologies

- Bachelors of Science in Engineering (preferably manufacturing/mechanical or electrical), Masters preferred

Vette Corp seeks a well experienced and accomplished Thermal Mechanical Engineer, with a strong CFD Thermal Modeling background, coupled with solid experience in manufacturing processes and component design considerations. Exposure to international operations would be a strong plus in this role.

Position Summary:

As part of our US Engineering team we are seeking a self motivated individual with experience in air and liquid heat transfer and thermodynamics. Candidates with 3 or more years of commercial experience are preferred, however, qualified recent college grads with strong directly related academic and intern experience will be considered. Most important is a strong working knowledge of thermal software modeling and 3D CAD packages. This position will entail helping our customers efficiently solve their thermal issues. The successful candidate will work on new product designs, will occasionally travel supporting our customers, and will occasionally give basic thermal seminars. This position will also entail developing manufacturing processes and cost estimating. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs product development & engineering support for the full Thermal Management product line.
• Performs pre-sales support to our US sales team in developing new customer required thermal solutions.
• Performs engineering design & support activities for our US and China manufacturing facilities
• Provides thermal seminars and custom demonstrations for the full Thermal Management product line.
• Performs basic post-sales activities, such as customer implementations, project management, power user sessions, user group meetings, etc
• Attendance of industry related trade shows, seminars and conferences as required
• Build strong, working relationships within corporate and client organizations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree a strong plus) Thermal certifications or degrees preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of practical mechanical engineering experience in a production environment. 2 or more years of thermal engineering design experience.
• Strong mechanical design background with Thermal engineering experience.
• Strong CFD thermo modeling experience with Icepak or equivalent and 3D CAD experience with either Pro/E, SolidWorks, or other top tier 3D package.
• Highly developed general knowledge of manufacturing processes including: Machining, Stamping, Extrusion, Plastic Molding, and Die cast are desired.
• Strong knowledge of Tolerance Methods: ANSI Y14.5 Stds, GD&T Principals
• Ability to consider and include cost estimates in practical design considerations
• Ability to convey advanced concepts clearly and concisely to communicate technology applications, features, benefits and value propositions
• Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Foreign language skills in Chinese a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Start-up and/or new technology launch experience a plus
